Beginnings
Beginnings are so important, but so are endings. None of us chooses how we begin on this earth, but we can choose how we will end. Larry and I are so grateful for Christian parents and Godly grandparents who prayed for us almost daily. All those prayers put us in the "Head Start" program!

Though we had been living in Canada for many years, our dear neighbour, ( who lived in the apartment below us) remained in our hearts and prayers. So when we returned to Beijing, our team paid him a visit. It was a blessing to share the Gospel message with him and his care-giver. He accepted Jesus in his heart.
A MIRACLE
He told us that he had almost died the month before we came. Though already 80 years, he believed God kept him alive for our visit. He called it a merciful miracle.
God's Word is Faithful!
He told us that he had heard about Jesus as a little
boy from European missionaries. Though so many years had passed, the seed remained.
John 4:38
I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

At the advice of Pastor Mike, we enrolled in VWMTC to train as missionaries. Little did we know that a difficult high ropes course would be part of the curriculum. Climbing to the top of this telephone pole was extremely challenging, not only because Larry had a fear of heights, but also an injured foot! Getting to the top was not all; you then needed to jump toward a flying trapeze.
WE WILL GO
After completing this 2 day challenge, all fear left us. As God gave victory over the obstacles on the course, we knew He would also give us victory over any obstacles on our journey for Him.

Michael Y. was one of the first young men to accept the Lord and join our fellowship. His faith was so real, that soon after, his mother also accepted the Lord!
WE NEEDED HELP!
We had purchased a new apartment which was still under construction. In those days, you had to also buy the windows, doors, kitchen and BR fixtures. Michael, who had recently lost his job, volunteered to help us. That day, we purchased windows for the whole place and were quite happy with the price. Unbeknown to us, the seller called Michael over and gave him a "kickback" of 1500 RMB. At that time, it was the equivalent of 3-4 months salary! Michael immediately came to us and insisted we take the money, stating it was not his and that he truly wanted to help us.
God knows and remembers!
Today, Michael heads a large company of his own. That 1500 RMB is todays pocket change. And most of all, he continues to love and serve God.
